Online Marketing Manager – Job Description

Job Description

Create, lead and implement the online marketing strategy for Dmailer S.A., a small European consumer software and services company with extensive distribution worldwide.  The development and implementation of this strategy will be done in coordination with the EVP of Marketing and the extended marketing team.

The position can be located on the East Coast of the United States, or at Dmailer’s headquarters in Marseille, France. 


The position requires creativity, flexibility, initiative, strong analytics and a proven track record in revenue generation.  This will include managing email and internet-based marketing campaigns and programs to maximize sales on a worldwide basis.  This person will interact with product marketing, website and installed based marketing team members on a day-to-day basis. 

The position will require creation of website marketing content and enhancements in conjunction with relevant internal departments, external agencies and business partners (e.g., SanDisk, Lexar, Skype).  There will be an on-going assessment of opportunities to market software and services via the web, including programs developed by hardware OEMs, services partners and leveraging partner strategy.  The individual should be responsible for paid and natural search engine optimization, analyze campaign and site usage data, provide implication and recommendations.


The ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment. Is self-motivated and self-directed, however, must have demonstrated ability to work well with people.  An ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is critical, as is excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.  The individual will need to communicate routinely with management and other teams located in France, so clarity of communication is a premium.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The individual needs to be extremely knowledgeable and hands on in implementing many of the following online marketing techniques.​

  • PPC: Understand manage paid search marketing campaigns using Google Adwords, Yahoo/​Overture & MSN, including an in-depth understanding of CTR & ROI.​ Experienced in banner ads & display advertisement along with link & media buying.​
  • SEO:  An expert in all aspects of search engine marketing and natural search optimization plus you need to have an in depth knowledge of ethical techniques accepted by major search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN.​ 
  • Web Analytics: You have extensive knowledge of web traffic analytical software such as Google Analytics, and a thorough understanding of analyzing data reports for SEO, PPC, Shopping Engines, etc.​
  • Email Marketing:  The marketing team in Marseilles will manage the creation of creative and HTML.​  The individual will need to be versed in segmentation, a/​b testing, persuasive copy and a thirst for higher conversion rates.​ 
  • Affiliate Marketing:  Create and optimize affiliate marketing programs.​  From defining the payout, getting marketers on board, and strategizing activities to propel revenue, creating performance-based affiliate programs for clients in various industries.​ 
  • Social Media: Extensive background in Social Media and its use in Online Marketing with an in-depth knowledge into utilizing the right types of social media for different types of clients and market spaces.​
  • Word of Mouth Marketing: Brin to the table experience in managing online word of mouth marketing campaigns.​ Seeding the online communities with creative information about products, services and brands in order to spread brand and move product.​
  • Blogs: Be a blogger and have a deep knowledge of search marketing uses of Blogs & RSS Feeds.​  
  • Online Brand Management: Posses a passionate and in-depth knowledge of online reputation and brand management by monitoring various outlets such as search engines, blogs, social communities.​  An expert in optimizing press releases for the web to maximize subject matter exposure.​

Experience and Education:

Direct experience is a must.  Minimum 3 years in online marketing and sales, with solid track record.
BA/BS or European equivalent degree is preferred.
